Two big things have happened since my last posting... I resigned from my teaching position and received my master's degree. Yes, in that order too. Resigning was a hard decision for many reasons, but we decided that the pros outweighed the cons. As I walked up the sidewalk to the board office to submit my letter of resignation, I became very emotional. It felt like only yesterday that I had gotten the phone call with the good news that I had gotten the job. I think I blinked my eyes and it was six years later. Crazy. So I'm happy with the choice I made. No regrets whatsoever. Just hoping that when it's time to go back to work that doors will open again for me. And hopefully having my master's will make me a better candidate...and not too expensive. Paul and I started our program together two years ago and he wasn't into the "breaks" that I continued to encourage, so it was full steam ahead! So now I am able to integrate technology into the nonexistent classroom of mine! I'm sure that when I do have my own classroom again technology will have changed so much that the stuff I learned will be completely pointless!
The girls are doing well and growing like weeds. Delaney only has a couple more days of school left. It'll be nice to have her home this summer. I'm still figuring out our game plan for the week when Paul is away at his summer job. I need to have a balance of enough stuff going on and enough down time so that I don't go crazy. I also hope to make a few Ohio road trips to visit friends and family that I don't see nearly enough. I'm in a scheduling groove today, so hopefully I'll get some more things on the calendar today.
Hopefully this is just beginning of being back in touch on here!
