Friends

We have been quite the entertaining fools this summer. Just about every week something takes place at our house, whether it's a bible study, family or friends over for dinner, out of town relatives staying with us or a scrapbooking workshop. We both enjoy it, but I need a break for a little while though. (DJ and Sandi, don't expect any royal treatment this week when you get in town. Only kidding, we can't wait to have you guys here! SOOOO excited to see you!!! Should we have Blueberry French Toast Casserole again? I make that all the time now!) The last few days have been especially busy for us as we've been getting together with friends that we haven't seen in a while.

Scott, Amanda, and Jayda Hagan came up on the 4th and stayed for a few days. Scott is Paul's cousin and he's the one that painted the bicentennial barns in Ohio. One barn in each of Ohio's 88 counties has the bicentennial logo on it. He's our famous relative. Their daughter, Jayda, is just a few months younger than Delaney and they had so much fun together. Amanda's pregnant with another little girl and is due in December:) We spent a few hours at the beach one day and enjoyed a picnic and some time by the water. Delaney wasn't a big fan of the lake. The sound and sight of the waves rolling in really frightened her. She had much more fun playing (and eating) the sand.

On Friday I did a little road trip to see my girlfriend, Christy, that was in town. Too bad "in town" was 3 hours south of here! I headed down to Quaker City to see her and her 17 month old daughter, Adah. Christy is a dear friend of mine from college and since she lives in Wisconsin we only get to see each other once or twice a year when she's in town visiting her parents. Christy and Derek are expecting their 2nd child- a little girl- in October:) We spent the afternoon just talking and walked around the town's Folk Festival. Fair food rocks! So do Christy's hugs! You know those super firm hugs that last a long time and just say so much?! I enjoy those and just love good huggers! Christy's super awesome hugs, good conversation and the elephant ear was definitely worth the drive.
